Update: Week of November 4

Here’s what’s happening in third grade:

Writing: We continue working on our persuasive speeches. We have developed a thesis and are working on organizing information.

Math: We have been working on 2-step word problems. Continue practicing multiplication facts at home. Right now we are planning for our math test sometime next week.

Reading: We continue to use strategies to read mystery books. Today, we talked about using a timeline when our book gets confusing. This helps to check our comprehension.

Social Studies Homework: We have been learning about the Landforms and Bodies of water in Michigan. Your child has homework due Wednesday. It was sent home today. They should read the Bodies of Water page and complete the rest of the chart. They should study for our Landforms/Bodies of Water quiz on Wednesday. Example:
1. Mountains- Huron Mountains
2. Bays- Grand Traverse Bay

Please help your child remember to sign on the days they read and practice facts.
