A few things…

Our class has earned their bonus reading time!! So tomorrow we will take some time to have some extra reading. The students may bring in a small stuffed animal and blanket if they wish. Make sure these are easily transported in the backpack or plastic bag.

Economics Test:

We will review for our economics test on Friday and the test will be on Monday. The review sheet will come home. Please help your third grader to review over the weekend.

Thank you!

Economics Test- change!

I will be changing our Economics test to Monday. The review will come home today. Having it on Friday would make a group of our students have three tests that day (with science and math). I didn’t want to do that! So Monday it is! Thanks for understanding.

Economics Test and Research

Hi Families,

We will have our Economics Test tomorrow. A review page went home tonight. Please help your third grader study for this test and review vocabulary. Thanks!

Also, we are beginning research writing. Your child will need to think of an animal or a person that they could research, gather information about, and write about. A note will be coming home about research homework. Please look for that soon. Thanks!

Economics Review

Hi Families,
We will be working hard and reviewing for our Economics test on Thursday. Today we finished studying fines, fees, and taxes. Please review this with your third grader.
Fee: when we pay to a government in exchange for being able to do a certain activity.
Fine: what people pay to a government for breaking a rule or a law.
Taxes: what people pay to a government in exchange for services like schools and road repair.
Look for a test review to come home this week.

Also, we will be in need of a few more boxes of Kleenex. If you are willing to donate, we would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!

Social Studies Vocabulary

We are beginning our Economics unit for Social Studies. In this unit there are many vocabulary words that we will be learning. To help us learn these in a fun and interesting way Mr. Gort, a resource teacher in our building has created some vocabulary practice online. Please take a look at these with your child. So far we have learned about natural resources, human resources, and capital resources.
