Geography Project:
***Please Note: the information will come home tomorrow. I had planned on today, but during our social studies lesson we had a visitor in our class (a bee!). It became a distraction and to keep us all safe we spent the last part of our day with an extra recess! 🙂 So we will finish up the project information tomorrow, but here is my blog post so you know what to expect:
Today, the information went home for the social studies map project. Your child should have 3 things: A Michigan map, a green sheet with directions/rubric, and the natural and human characteristics page (white sheet). In class we identified the natural characteristics and human characteristics of Michigan. This includes landforms, bodies of water, cities, highways, lighthouses, and bridges. We have been learning about these and have identified them on the Michigan map.
As part of the project your child should label these places on the Michigan map that was provided. Don’t forget neatness and color. There is a checklist that also goes with the project to make sure full points are received.
We have identified these characteristics in class, however, your child may need some guidance to label correctly and find specific locations. You may also use any notes from class.
This project is Due Tuesday, October 16.
Have fun with your map! Let me know if you have any questions!
