Week of March 26!

  • We will not be doing a math practice page this week. The practice page from last week will come home sometime this week. This will let your third grader know what facts to be practicing over spring break.
  • Our Unit 6 math test will be on Thursday. This will cover geometry and area and perimeter. A review page will be coming home.
  • No Homework Packet this week! There will not be a homework packet this week, but please help your third grader to be consistent with reading and math fact practice over spring break! It is also important for third graders to be practicing typing. Please have your third grader practice typing by clicking the links here on the right side of the blog or logging on to Clever and using Nitro Type.
  • Have a great Spring Break!! School resumes on Monday, April 9!

Typing Practice

Today, during computers we practiced typing out a constructed response. That means we had to type several sentences to form a paragraph. I reminded our third graders to be sure to use the home row keys that they learned during typing in second grade. Many have forgotten!
As we continue working on responding to reading, we will be typing many of our responses as well as typing some of our writing work. It will be important for your third grader to practice their typing skills.
I have some typing links on the right side of the blog under Spelling and Typing. Check them out for at-home practice!

An update

We had an awesome time on our field trip yesterday! It was a neat experience to be snowshoeing while learning about animal habitats and adaptations. Pictures to come!

Our Valentine’s Party is on Friday from 12:45-1:45. Please remind your student to decorate a box or bag at home and bring it by Friday. Students may also bring in Valentines do pass out. A class list went home last week.

New word work words are:  learn, many, continue, school, future, little, important, world

We have been practicing our typing skills and have worked really hard on our typing challenges. Encourage your child to use the home row keys when they type. I have some practice sites linked to our blog on the right side.
